About the Event
The 2nd Annual Semiahmoo Ravens Alumni Pro-Am will take place March 6 & 7 at Centennial Arena and South Surrey Arena to raise money for KidSport Surrey & White Rock, the Canucks Autism Network, the Peninsula Community Foundation, and Semiahmoo Minor Hockey.
A community coming together
The Semiahmoo Ravens Alumni NHL Pro-Am is an event created to raise funds for KidSport White Rock / South Surrey and the Canucks Autism Network, in partnership with the Peninsula Community Foundation. The goal is to help make hockey more accessible in our community and provide opportunities for kids to experience the game we love without the burden of the costs most frequently associated with it.
In 2025 the inaugural event raised $121,993 in support of KidSport, the Canucks Autism Network, and the Peninsula Community Foundation. In 2026 we are expanding to two days, adding a U17 Showcase, and welcoming Vancouver Canucks & NHL Alumni back to the ice.
Three pieces of the weekend
The Draft
Arguably the most entertaining portion of the event when teams get to select their participating NHL Alumni to play with their team. This year’s draft will feature all of our alumni plus a few other local celebrities who will take part and select their featured player. Draft rankings are based on how much money is raised leading up to the event. This year’s event will be hosted by Global TV personality, weather man Mark Madryga.
The Games
Alumni games get going at 10:00am with Ravens minor and U17 showcase games mixed in between. The day will close with a White Rock Whalers playoff game, starting at 7:30pm. There will be a beer garden, sponsored by Four Winds in Delta, from 10am – 7pm at the west end of the concourse and all games are open to friends, family, and the public. Come see some NHL legends skate with some Semiahmoo legends!
The Kids
This year’s event will feature a celebration of community hockey by showcasing some games played by Semiahmoo Ravens U7, U9, and U13 teams. These games will be included in the event schedule and meant to showcase our future Ravens Alumni. Also included is a U17 A Showcase featuring the Ravens U17 team plus teams from Cloverdale, Langley, and North Delta.
Our charitable partners
KidSport Surrey & White Rock — 50%
KidSport helps sustain demand for hockey registration costs for families who are in need. Half of net proceeds from the Pro-Am go directly to local KidSport grants.
Semiahmoo Minor Hockey — 30%
Used to subsidize registration fees for all minor hockey players in Semiahmoo on behalf of the Alumni and to form a new alumni scholarship. Funding also supports an equipment inventory to help families in need with equipment costs.
Canucks Autism Network — 10%
This event concept was founded from the Canucks Autism Network Pro-Am. We continue to support CAN in their efforts to provide resources and access to sport for kids with autism.
Peninsula Community Foundation — 10%
PCF helps organizations raise money and has kindly allowed us to use their fundraising software for this event. The 10% admin allocation is then redeployed to help our community.
More than a hockey tournament
The Pro-Am exists to create a joyful, competitive experience that connects the community while generating real charitable impact. We believe sport has the power to build belonging, fund opportunity, and bring people together.
Community First
Keep overhead low so the maximum portion of every dollar reaches our charitable partners.
Inclusive by Design
Players of any skill level are welcome — alumni, non-alumni, and U17 showcase teams alike.
Transparent & Accountable
We publish our totals and partner allocations so donors can see their money at work.
